All Parties Are Urged to Care About the Survival of Orangutans
PALANGKA RAYA, inikalteng.com – Five members of the Asia-Pacific Scout Regional Scout from the Philippines together with two representatives of the National Kwartir (Kwarnas) Scout Movement visited Central Kalimantan Province (Kalteng) with the main agenda of directly monitoring the condition of the Ticket To Life Troop (TTL) which has been fostered in the City of Palangka Raya.
In the activity scheduled for November 17-19 2022, the team also visited an orangutan breeding site managed by the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (BOSF) in the Nyaru Menteng area, Tahai Village, Palangka Raya City, Thursday (17/11/2022).
The visit to BOSF was accompanied by Deputy Head of Central Kalimantan Kwarda for Binawasa Sector Dr Bambang Mantikei, Deputy Head for Community Service and Public Relations H Istani P Yunus SH MH, Head of Pusdiklatda H Hidayatullah SP MSi, as well as a number of Regional Trustees.

On that occasion, Mr Wendel Avisado as APR Consultant (Former President of the Boys Scouts of the Philippines) appealed to all parties to show concern for the sustainability of animals, including orangutans and their kind.
“I say from my heart and how do we show our care and love for animals including orangutans. We should love orangutans, we must take care of our orangutans and we must ensure that their future and generations are safe,” he said while looking at the behavior of some orangutan in the wire cage.
Besides that, according to Mr Wendel, the importance of education about observation and protection of orangutans. This will be beneficial for Indonesia, because orangutans are endemic animals from Kalimantan.
The former Minister of Finance of the Philippines in the era of President Duterte also hopes that members of the DPR and elements of the government will take a role, not only protecting without producing anything, but also allocating funds to ensure the availability of important things needed by orangutans to survive.
During this visit, Mr Wendel also came with the Director of WOSM/Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Support Center Mr JR Pangilinan, Director of Educational Methods, APR Support Center Mr Syd Castillo, Senior Manager of Educational Method Mrs Arjay Cameros, and Staff of APR Support Center Lance Iverson.
